What started as a business relationship in 2009 grew into an invaluable friendship. Kevin and Amber Hornaday have impacted our lives not just as excellent friends but as mentors in faith. My husband and I both have come to them with many questions over the years and they always bring us to God's word giving us scripture to dive into for answers. They do not allow you to follow their advice as people but guide you to lean on God and seek His counsel. I have seen both Kevin and Amber hold back from their flesh advice and wait in obedience for the Holy Spirit to intercede and speak through them. They have opened our hearts to understanding that a relationship with Christ is key, not the religion you identify as. Our identity should be in Christ alone through the relationship we have with Him. God is working through Kevin and Amber changing lives because of their boldness in faith and unwavering trust in Him. I am grateful for the way God has used them in my life. I now have a relationship with God bringing Him every need big or small and knowing how to fight back against the lies of the enemy. I started out seeking counsel from Kevin and Amber but through their constant guidance to lay it at the cross and dig into His living word, I learned to go to God and seek His guidance.
I've spent most of my 34 years pretty consistently in church. I've known how to act like a Christian for many years, but I didn’t really know Christ or how to follow Him. In May of 2021, I was having a conversation with a coworker about how he had been turned off by the church because they preached one thing on Sunday but when he saw them on Friday they weren't walking it out. I told him I believe many of the churches today have missed the mark, it's all about numbers and tithes. That conversation started to chip away at my spirit because I knew I was also different on Sunday than I was on Friday. A few short months later I had a hard conversation with Pastor Kevin (before he was my pastor) and it led me to examine my walk with Christ altogether. I began to search for a true relationship with Christ and I found Him and nothing has been the same. I began to hate the facade that I had tried to build all my life that I was this righteous Christian and I began to seek the genuine righteousness of God. It became less about what people thought of me and more about pleasing the Father. When the Hornadays announced they would be pastoring Freedom Assembly, I couldn’t wait to be a part of it. Their mission is to wake up the church and to provoke us to examine our walk and break down the facade and seek Christ fully. My family has been so impacted by this, my daughter was recently baptized and I won't lie sometimes she seems to be more spiritually mature than me and calls me out on something that I'm doing. I've realized that the world can easily see it when we say we believe one thing but act a different way and if we are to win others for the kingdom we need authenticity. I'm so thankful to be a part of a church that doesn’t allow me to pretend comfortably. I'm thankful to be a part of a church where all of my sandy foundations are crumbled because that's when I start to allow Christ to build me up and I don’t have to pretend anymore.
I am profoundly grateful for the transformative impact the Hornadays’ ministry has had on my life and marriage. Their unwavering commitment to practicing boldness has been an inspiring beacon, shaping my own journey towards courage in faith. Through their example, we've learned the delicate art of operating with grace while steadfastly adhering to the commands and obedience of God. The Hornadays have not only demonstrated the path, but also guided us on how to compassionately correct and stir others in the light of divine principles and love. One of the most profound changes they've facilitated is the shift from a mere physical name to a spiritual identity. Thanks to their guidance, I now embrace the spiritual name "Dylan the Bold," a reflection of newfound confidence and purpose in my walk with God. Their constant encouragement serves as a guiding force, and their mentorship is a treasured blessing. In the intricate tapestry of our faith, they stand as not only leaders but also as cherished friends, weaving the Word of God into the fabric of our lives.
The Hornadays are a family deeply rooted in prayer and unwavering faith, consistently delivering impactful results when we invite them to join us in prayer. Their ministry acts as a steadfast lighthouse, guiding the lost into an intimate walk with Christ, offering salvation as a beacon of hope. Through their powerful prayer and commitment, they illuminate the path for those seeking a transformative journey with God.
